To complete the online student application process, the following items are needed:
- Application for admission
- $75 non-refundable application fee
- Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
- GRE/GMAT scores (optional for select programs – see requirements)
- TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo scores (international applicants only)
- Letter of recommendation (optional for most MS programs)
- Portfolio (Architecture and Design applicants only)

NJIT Online employs rolling admissions, so your application will be evaluated once it is submitted, and all requirements have been completed. The following priority application deadlines have been established for the upcoming terms:

The deadlines above are considered priority deadlines. If a priority deadline has passed, you may still be able to be considered for admission for your intended start term. We encourage applicants to submit their applications as soon as possible and monitor the status of their application on the applicant status page.

Deadlines for master's degree applications can be found by visiting the NJIT Admissions Dates and Deadlines webpage.
Graduate Certificate program applications are considered on a rolling basis - but it is recommended that applicants complete their application and submit all materials to NJIT at least 3 weeks prior to the start of the semester in which they hope to begin the program.

Students are able to check the status of their NJIT online application via the application portal. Go to connect.njit.edu/apply/.
Generally speaking, most programs have the following online admissions requirements: completed application, non-refundable application fee, transcripts from all colleges and universities attended and an optional letter of recommendation. Additional requirements may exist depending on the program (see details here).
Please allow at least 10 to 15 business days for your materials to arrive. Your application will be reviewed as soon as all required documents arrive. You will receive written notification from the Office of Graduate Admissions informing you of any missing documentation.

NJIT will accept unofficial copies of any required documents needed to complete your application. Admitted students are expected to submit official documents prior to enrolling.
Yes. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is required for all international applicants not holding a degree from a United States post-secondary institution.
The minimum score required is 79 for the Internet-based TOEFL exam, 213 for the computer-based TOEFL exam, or 550 for the paper-based TOEFL exam. A minimum score of 6.5 with no sub-score lower than 6.0 is required for the IELTS exam.
