Deadlines

Apply nowThe online degree programs follow the same schedule as all other NJIT programs: There are three times that you can begin a program:

  • A fall semester, running Sept through Dec
  • A spring semester, running Jan through May
  • Two concentrated summer semesters, May through June and July through Aug, as well as a third semester that stretches from May through Aug

You can join NJIT Online and begin taking classes -- towards your masters degree or your certificate -- any of these semesters.

Because NJIT employs rolling admissions, your application will be evaluated as soon as your file is complete.  Students are generally notified of their status within three weeks of completion of their application.

If you are applying a master’s program, the deadlines are:

Fall semester

  • US applicants: June 5
    International applicants: April 1
    Financial support consideration: January 15

Spring semester

  • All applicants: November 15
    Financial aid consideration: October 15

If you missed these deadlines or wish to start in the summer, all degree seeking students may apply as non-degree students.   The credits that are earned as a non-degree student flip over to your degree work,  you are accepted.

And easier yet, if you are applying for a graduate certificate, completed applications and straightforward supporting documents can be submitted to NJIT seven days before the start of each semester, including summer.  As a non-degree student who has earned this stand alone credential you can still decide to continue your studies toward a Master’s degree; and once accepted, your 12 credits flip over to your degree work, so no time has been lost on your road to advanced knowledge and learning.
